Introduction
Ubuntu Studio 21.10 (Impish Indri) is the standard release from the Ubuntu Studio Project and will be supported for nine months until July 2022. Ubuntu Studio uses the same KDE Plasma desktop environment, Plasma v5.22, as Kubuntu 21.10 release.
Plasma 5.22 is now smooth while retaining familiar set up. Ubuntu Studio 21.10 ships the 5th scheduled bugfix release of KDE Plasma 5.22 (5.22.5).
It also comes with Linux Kernel v5.13, KDE Gear 21.08, Firefox v92 using a native debian package from the Ubuntu archive while Ubuntu 21.10 uses a snap package, and LibreOffice v7.2.1.
Due to the change in desktop environment after the release of 20.04 LTS, direct upgrades from releases prior to 21.04 are not supported.
