Introduction
Ubuntu MATE 21.04 (Hirsute Hippo) is the standard release from Ubuntu MATE team, supported for 9 months until January 2022. It comes with latest MATE desktop 1.24.1, Firefox 87, LibreOffice 7.1.2.2, Evolution 3.40, and Celluloid 0.20.
Ubuntu MATE 21.04 includes Linux Kernel 5.11, better anonymous memory management, support for extended attributes in NFS, and much more.
Ubuntu MATE team is expected to release images for the Raspberry Pi in the days following the release for PC.
